Our Services

Why use AerialAg Digital Agriculture for your multispectral analysis?

Multispectral data is not new, but with advancements in drone and camera technology, it is now accessible to every farm.

We use the DJI Mavic 3M to capture our imagery. We received the first shipment to Australia of this drone that is set to change the way we look at farming.

Now we can accurately and quickly take data from your crops, up to 100 hectares per hour. Previously it would take days to capture this data with low battery life and flight time of the previous drones on the market, and lower resolution cameras, meaning flying lower and slower to capture accurate data, making it only an option for smaller crops.

We are one of the first operators in this market in the North East and Riverina areas.

We can arrange one off scans, or contracts to scan and report on your crops monthly, fortnightly or even weekly over the growing season, giving you season round insights to be able to target your treatments and ultimately save money, time, resources, consumables, product and the environment.

Our Workflow

We begin with assessing your area via satellite imagery.

After this, we come out to consult on your area to be scanned.

Once confirmed, we launch our drones to fly automated missions over the area, which are repeated with the exact same flightpath every time we visit.

We take 5 photos every 2 seconds of flight, collecting massive amounts of data on our drones. All our data is radiometrically calibrated every flight, so no matter the lighting conditions on the day, the data is always accurate.

We then take this collected data back to our office, where we use specialised computers and software to stitch thousands of photos taken together to make an RGB orthomosaic of your area (ie. Think google maps but with resolution to see individual leaves on trees).

At this time, we then process the 4 multispectral bands to run formulas in our software to produce standard and customised vegetation indexes (NDVI, NDRE etc).

We then assess the indexes and generate in-depth reports that we send to you on the health status of your crop. We will go through all the data and highlight areas that need further attention, highlight parts that are performing well, or areas which might need specialised treatment.

We then create zonation maps which can then be used to create variable rate prescription applications, showing averages of areas that need more attention than others, to give you a clear overview of where your crop is excelling or struggling.
